A framework, not a lender ණය දෙන්නෙකු නොවේ, රාමුවක් கடன் வழங்குபவர் அல்ல, வரைமுறை

Why Piyavara existsපියවර ඇත්තේ ඇයිபியவர ஏன் உள்ளது

Between 2018 and 2024, advocacy groups documented over 170 debt-linked suicides among rural Sri Lankan women, driven largely by commercial microfinance charging effective rates of 40–60% on top of informal moneylender debt at 200%+. The problem is not that credit exists. The problem is that most borrowers have never been shown what their credit actually costs.

Piyavara is a small first attempt to change that. It is a five-step framework, a workbook, a website, and a directory — nothing more. It aims to give a family sitting at a kitchen table the same tools a bank's treasury desk uses.
